Goal: Get car in good enough shape to drive around the block this weekend. Who needs fenders, a hood, an exhaust (more than long tube headers), a well tuned carb, and proper timing (it won't idle very well)?

Have you given any thought to doing it yourself?

It's a bit of a bugger of a job. Lots of work flatting things down, and you need a decent compressor (maybe two, one to run the gun and the other to run your breathing mask).

Still, it's just the price of the tools you'll be out, and no waiting around for dickheads to screw you over :)

Yeah, I hear blacks are tricky.

It's really irritating when you set up runs as well. You need a very steady touch.

Plus, 2-pack paint is frankly terrifying. It uses cyano-acrylates which, as the name suggests, contain cyanide. Not enough to kill you unless you're really stupid, but one good lungful will cause you a world of damage. Not likely something you'd recover full function from either.

Oh yeah, it's super easy. I did it on on a Chevy 350 a few times. It will just be a pain without an exhaust.

Well one neighbor is in Europe and the other's late husband was a test pilot in the airforce back in the 50s so I hope she can handle the badassness.
